Magazine ads provide insight into how L.C. Smith shotguns were marketed to the public. Reproduced here are nearly 100 ads covering the period of 1909 to 1945 from publications including Forest and Stream, Outdoor Life, Hunting and Fishing, National Sportsman, and Hunter-Trader-Trapper. Viewing the ads from periods such as the stock market boom of the late 1920s, the post depression years of the late 1930s, and especially World War II show how marketing approaches varied as the eras changed in the first half of the twentieth century.
